EWM INSIGHTS with Special Guest LT CDR Josette Curtis
Josette Curtis, a Pennsylvania native, graduated with merit from the US Naval Academy in 2001 with a bachelor of science in chemistry and a minor in Spanish. Upon completion of flight training in Pensacola, FL, she received her Naval Flight Officer wings in October 2002 and reported to Naval Air Station Whidbey Island, WA for training in the (now retired) EA-6B Prowler. Her flying career spanned 12 years and included two deployments to the Western Pacific onboard USS Abraham Lincoln with the LANCERS of VAQ-131, logging over 1000 flight hours and 200 carrier arrested landings. She completed her shore tour at the Electronic Attack Weapons School, where she received the inaugural Golden Griffin award for outstanding tactics instructor.
Josette is not only a Navy veteran, she's also a Navy spouse - her husband Jack recently retired from the Navy following a successful command tour with the VAQ-130 Zappers, where he led them through a 7-month deployment onboard USS Dwight D. Eisenhower that included a record-setting 206 consecutive days at sea. Jack, Josette, and their family reside in Anacortes, WA.
